SPRING Sensory Programs, Social Groups & Family Fun!
Listed below are a variety of activities offering wonderful sensory opportunities for children with A.S.D. – martial arts, dance, music and movement; social programs for kids of all ages; a new “Mommy (or Daddy) and Me Program; a program to assist parents in developing communication & play skills with their young child with autism (The Hanen Program) and some fun family programs – including Drumming with Bob Bloom & a Movie Day!
The Division of Autism has provided the funding for these programs and there is no charge for families but you must pre-register!
We ask that you pay close attention to the extension numbers or email addresses you are to call to register for specific activities and please note the following guidelines. The first two are offered by the Autism Division, the remaining are C.A.R. guidelines. We will be following these guidelines when we accept registrations for the various programs.
Registration Guidelines:
- Please chose one activity to attend – the activity, which best fits your needs. You may sign up for a second or third choice, so that if space is available you may be able to participate in another activity. We will be attempting to have as many individuals as possible have the opportunity to attend programs. This does not apply to Family Programs!
- We will give first priority to Division of Autism families. Next, we will include individuals who are “dual status” – DMR and Division of Autism eligible and so on…
- We ask that, if for any reason your child or family will not be able to attend a program, you call Community Autism Resources 508-379-0371 or 800-588-9239 (toll calls) to cancel. We often have waiting lists and would like to offer the opportunity for someone to fill the space if you are unable to attend. We reserve the right to refuse registration to those individuals who have repeatedly signed up for activities and have not attended and called us to cancel.
- We may ask for additional registration information & various “release” forms (photo, etc.). We ask your assistance in getting this information to us in a timely manner.
We will provide Visual Systems for many of the programs we are offering. These will be available on the Visual Systems link for the individual programs.
PLEASE NOTE: We are organizing additional programs in other areas of our region, including the Brockton and South Shore areas. We will post these activities on this site as we organize the details.
